Position Title: AF DCGS System Architect
Project Overview The Air Force is evolving its Air Force Distributed Common Ground System (AF DCGS) to an open architecture, Defense Intelligence Information Enterprise (DI2E) compliant system. SRA provides program management, systems engineering, architecture design, service management, and service infrastructure management support to
- Identify technology options and recommendations to meet operational needs
- Advise and assist in implementing, integrating and testing new capabilities into the AFDCGS.
- Generate Engineering Artifacts as needed to effectively manage the implementation and integration activities.
- Assist the Government in establishing the capability to develop and maintain an open architecture framework, centered around open source capabilities and using a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) framework

Daily Responsibilities: Lead a technical team of 8+ people in doing the following:
- Charting and leading the transition from a closed proprietary system orientation to the execution of true open, SOA-based architecture and development pattern.
- Providing advice and support to the government team on key development questions
- Ensuring that the AF DCGS operational needs are realized through all customization and augmentation of out-of-the-box infrastructure components by collaborating with analysts and developers.
- Leading the development/implementation of the overall AF DCGS Architecture
- Ensuring Adherence to Services Governance Model during development
SRA's on-site program manager for the AF DCGS evolution implementation team

Required Basic Qualifications:
- Experience in software development across the full system life cycle, with a strong software engineering background.
- Experience in technical planning, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
- Experience in using open source software.
- Excellent inter-personal skills and able to communicate up and down the management chain, including both technical and non-technical personnel to ensure operational and technical initiatives are aligned to meet customer expectations

Desired Skills: The following are highly desirable and the successful candidate will have some mix of these skills and experiences
Knowledge and experience in:
- Cloud Computing and Virtualization Technologies, including HADOOP, Cassandra and Cloudbase.
- Widget frameworks, especially OZONE based
- Network and Authentication Technologies
- Data-intensive computational processes
- Supporting system environments that span multiple datacenters
- SOA-based architecture design for large system development, leveraging the industry's most advanced BPM/SOA platform to large systems development
- Generating enterprise artifacts using DoDAF framework.
- Government security requirements (DCID 6/3 and related documents) and developing solutions to meet security requirements
- JBoss, Red Hat Linux 5, and Oracle 11g
- DCGS development, including DCGS Infrastructure Backbone (DIB)
Work experience on military Service headquarters or Joint Staff and /or experience in a military service / agency development or sustainment position highly desirable
Team leadership experience strong plus
