Premier is
seeking an experienced candidate who will work on a team of VMware and Windows
system administrators who can work independently in a team environment to build
and operate a network of distributed VMware ESX 4.1i server clusters. The
candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of Windows 2000, 2003, or 2008 system
administration experience, as well as a minimum 2 years experience with VMware
infrastructure. The candidate must have relevant experience in installing
vCenter 4.0 or 4.1, configuring the virtual switch environment on ESX 4.0i or
4.1i ESX clusters, as well as configuring ESX storage pools. The
candidate must have relevant experience configuring VMware High Availability
and Distributed Resource Scheduling. The ideal candidate will also have
excellent knowledge of server hardening techniques, and best practices in a
24x7 environment. Experience in performing Windows server physical to virtual
migrations is required.
As a member of the IT department you will also
be supporting our internal network of servers and occasionally end-users.
You will share on call pager responsibilities with a team of Windows and VMware
system administrators.
Position Requirements:
- A BA/BS (or equivalent experience) and a minimum of 7-years professional experience as a Systems Administrator in a windows environment with at least one year of experience as a VMware system administrator.
- The ability to manage you own time. Good organization, communication, and customer service skills.
- Experience supporting end-users.
- Microsoft MCSE or equivalent is required as well as VMware VCP.
- Experience performing Windows 2000/2003/2008 server physical to virtual migrations.
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to details.
- Intimate working knowledge of TCP/IP, Windows 2003/2008 Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, DFS, IIS, SQL Server, Symantec Anti-virus or Symantec End Point Protection, BigFix, Veritas Backup Exec or Veritas NetBackup Datacent, Firewalls, Switches, Visio, and MS Office
- Experience configuring SNMP on Windows servers.
- VMware auto-provisioning experience.
